The development of the Glacier men’s winter jacket started with a blank sheet, where we wrote down some “key words” that the jacket had to meet; high-quality and stretchable 3-layer softshell fabric, min. 10,000 mm/H2O water column, good breathability and sufficient reflection all around.

The most important and the biggest challenge turned out to be the fabric. It was not easy to meet our requirements.
After several samples, we have succeeded in presenting a nice and versatile winter jacket. Whether you’re training on the road bike, enjoying adventures on the gravelbike, do an epic mountain bike ride, or daily commuting in winter, this winter jacket is your best friend! The Glacier Winter Jacket can be worn with just an undershirt in cold conditions (-2°C/5°C).

The Glacier winter jacket has a technical 3-layer softshell that stretches particularly well. The outer layer of this fabric can withstand a rain shower thanks to the DWR coating (durable water-repellent layer), while the middle TPU layer (membrane) is wind and waterproof (10,000 mm/H2O water column) and has a breathability of 5,000 g/m2/day. The inner layer is made of microfleece and keeps your body warm and comfortable. Under the armpit is an insert of thermal fabric, which is very breathable and thus ensures extra evaporation of perspiration.

Thanks to the four water-repellent back pockets, you can also take everything you need on the go. The center pocket has an extra zip pocket: ideal for your bank card, keys and smartphone, for example.

The reflective V-shape on the chest, reflective logos and the large reflective strip on the back make you highly visible in traffic.

This technical Softshell fabric stretches very well, creating a rather snug fit. No fluttering in the wind.

✓ Robust waterproof zipper with storm flap behind the zipper to keep out the wind.

✓ Long cuffs around the wrists, so that the cuffs closes well, even when wearing gloves.

✓ Anti-slip strip with silicone keeps the jacket perfectly in position.

✓ 3 large back pockets.

✓ 1 extra back pocket with Camlock YKK zipper.

Washing instructions

To enjoy this cycling jacket the most, it is important that you wash this jacket correctly. This jacket consists mainly of a 3-layer “Softshell” fabric. The outer layer has a DWR-coating (Durable Water Repellent).

Washing instructions softshell cycling jacket

  • Close all zippers and turn the jacket inside out before washing.
  • Wash the softshell cycling jacket regularly, this extends the breathability of the jacket.
  • Wash this cycling jacket at 30°C – 40°C.
  • Use a mild washing detergent (max 5% perfume or soap). Do not use too much washing detergent.
  • Do not use fabric softener!
  • Let the jacket dry on a leash or dry flat. This cycling jacket cannot be tumble-dried.

What should you do if this Softshell cycling jacket absorbs water?

The DWR-coating prevents the fibers of the fabric from absorbing water. If this is the case, the membrane can breathe less. When you notice that the water is not dripping off so nicely anymore and the jacket absorbs water more easily, then it is time to impregnate your cycling jacket.

You can do this in two ways:

  • After you have washed and dried the jacket, you can spray the softshell fabric parts with a special “waterproof” spray. Do this always outdoors.
  • You can also wash this cycling jacket with Nikwax SoftShell Proof ™
